Utility Art Box Plan

This programme is provided by the Santa Clara Cultural Committee. For more than information, contact the Community Recreation Center at CulturalCommission@SantaClaraCA.gov or 408-615-3140 .

The program was originally launched in 2011 and relaunched in 2019. Public tin can even so encounter the murals painted on utility boxes over the past eight years at the corner of Scott Blvd. and Warburton Ave., every bit well equally Lafayette St. and Lewis St. Since the relaunch, vi boxes accept been completed.

Additional boxes are in process of existence painted. The theme for 2021 was "Solidarity, Resiliency and Promise." Give thanks you to these wonderful artists for helping add fine art to Santa Clara.

Solidarity, Resiliency and Promise past Angelo Lopez

This piece shows a variety of people representing all age groups taking a walk on a bound solar day. In the aforementioned way that communities are slowly coming out of the pandemic, springtime is when people come up out afterward sheltering for the winter. For the creative person, bound is a fourth dimension of hope, togetherness and love. Located at Pruneridge and Saratoga. Completed in September 2021.

Together by Helen Kong

This piece used hands of different colors and sizes that surround and embrace the box to represent people of different races and backgrounds coming together in unity and offering a mitt to one another. The mood of "Together" is happy and bright embodied by the playful colors and yellow background. Located at Monreo and Nobili. Completed in September 2021.

This piece displays the diversity of people uniting together for the same purpose of keeping our earth make clean. Located at Benton and Moraga. Completed in September 2021.

This slice represents the characteristic of the Mission Santa Clara. The Spanish arches, tiles, adobe pots, flowers, adobe along with a landscape of what it was like then. Located at Chromite and Monroe. Completed in August 2020.

This piece shows that people should care more than virtually the globe, nosotros should save water because h2o is very important to our world. Without water, there would not be life in our world. Located at Monroe and Meadowbrook. Completed in December 2019.
